Spreading the Word!

Postby Dysturbed » Wed Jul 21, 2010 8:33 pm

Once I get a finalized logo ill make up some decals and sell them on here. (gotta pay for the domain name and improvements to the page somehow lol.

We also have a facebook group that leads to the forum so if you have any gamers in the local area send em to this facebook group. (http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=136247809740239)

I am going to get some fliers made up and throw them around wherever I go the colleges, Alonzo's sport cards, borders, community bullient boards, ect.

I was also trying to think of a idea of bringing awareness of the organization and do something good for the community at the same time. My idea was for national literacy day next year to organize a book drive and give the books out on July 2nd of next year (national literacy day) out at walmart, the library, or something like that. Maybe get some of the local stores involved with my contacts downtown I may be able to get some monetary donations or to donate books. I know I can get some from Trans Allegeney Books as well as probably getting borders to put their names on it. Maybe Sylvian Learning Center could get involved in that also. Just a idea though.

Anyone got anything else?

The thought crossed my mind to have a board game night(Risk, Apples to Apples, Pictionary, D&D, ect.) or something like that where everyone tries to bring a friend and we all play games and drink some beer.

Alonzo's is still around? Damn. I need to get back up that way. I miss that shop. Here in Florida the shops are these mass produced retail shops. The environment is all wrong. It is supposed to be small and cramped with hardly anyone shopping there. Kind of like a porn shop.

That is MOST unfortunate... Joe the owner apparently passed away with no will so they need to name a exectutor and figure out what happens next. Very bad for a good friend of mine to who has been the manager there for years.
