The Story of SEOGG

Postby Dysturbed » Mon Jul 19, 2010 11:46 pm

I started this forum with a new friend of mine in mind. I was sitting in class at WSCC it was the last day of class and a guy I have never really talked to was walking by my computer. Turns out he used to play Warhammer and I happen to have the deathsquadsgame.com forum up. We got to talking and turned out he was looking for a D&D group and I was like sweet we are looking for at 4th player. He then told me after our first game that he had been looking forever for someone to game with. Thanks Casey!

I didn't say anything at the time but that got my gears turning and I wondered how many other folks are out there in the Mid Ohio Valley that can't find other people to game with. After high school it has become hard to find new people to game with unless a friend of a friend used to play years ago and would love to give it a go again.

So with that in mind welcome to the creation that spawned from that idea the South Eastern Ohio Gaming Guild! Feel free to discuss any games you would like we will even support whatever games you want to bring to the table. Just let me know and we will make a forum for it. We even support board gamers, wargamers (which i am becoming one), and card gamers.

A little about me I guess. I was introduced to the world of Dungeons and Dragons (more specificly Dragonlance) by my friend Clint my Junior year of high school and I have been hooked ever since. Our group did a short stint in 2nd Edition and discovered we hated THACO so we started writing a game of our own called Role-Player which isn't finished probably never will be since 4th ed fixed many of the Issues we had problems with. Now we bounce around between 4th Edition, D20 modern, and whatever else that looks good. We don't get a lot of time to play but when we do it's a great time. I am currently a Sign Maker in Marietta and I do pro-bono work for Death Squads as the Art Guy and a Contributor for the game's development, as well as starting up this place:)

Hope you enjoy this forum and the experiences and friends it will bring you,

You should try playing Pathfinder.

It is my favorite system. It has the details of v3.5, but it's been re-edited and reorganized into something like a v3.75.

I have looked at it a few times but after the investment of all the money in the 4ed books I dunno if I will get pathfinder for a little while. I'm also a herald level 1 DM for RPGA so I kinda wanna be able to run sactioned events if I can get them together. Which requires 4 people who show up all the time to do...very hard to get to happen sometimes.

Mind telling us how you found out about us magicprime?
